Great to meet you!

Hi!

My name is April Adler and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and have over 30 years of counseling experience working with a variety of specialties including: Self-Esteem/Self-Worth Issues, Dealing with Change and Life Transitions, Inner-Child work, Depression/Feelings of Hopelessness, Addictions/Substance Abuse, Spiritual Growth, 12-Step Recovery, Grief Counseling, and Eating Disorders.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I practice unconditional positive regard and I will never judge or shame you. The counseling theories that I lean toward are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Experiential, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. How and what we choose to think directly impacts how we feel and behave. Our work together will help you to identify old ways of thinking and acting that no longer serve you. We get to view life through a new pair of glasses!

What you can expect from our first session

If you are ready to make changes in your life I am here and ready to support and champion you. My goal with my clients is for you to feel heard, cared about, safe, supported and no longer alone. Great takeaways will be feeling hopeful again, finding peace with difficult situations that weigh heavily on you, making small changes and taking baby steps that make it easier for you to love and feel better about yourself and the world again.
