Great to meet you!

I’m April Baerga-Scruggs, LMSW, an Associate Therapist passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves. My professional background has allowed me to support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, relationship and family challenges, emotional regulation, and major life transitions. I have a special interest in working with parents, caregivers, and women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, and the emotional demands of caring for others. I also work with teens, adults, couples, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My goal is to meet you where you are, recognize your strengths, and help you develop practical tools that support healing, growth, and greater balance in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is simple: I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Life can be overwhelming, especially when you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, or feeling like you're carrying too much on your own.

You don't have to pretend everything is okay or have all the answers. I'm here to listen without judgment and help you work through whatever life is throwing your way.

Together, we'll talk about what's been weighing on you, understand what's holding you back, and find healthy ways to manage your emotions, build confidence, set boundaries, and feel more in control of your life.

Therapy is your time to focus on YOU. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you, and I'll be here to support you every step of the way.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know you and helping you feel comfortable. I know starting therapy can feel a little scary, especially if you've never talked to someone about what you're going through.

We'll talk about what's been happening in your life, what's been weighing on you, and what you'd like to change or work on. You don't have to share everything on the first day, and there's no pressure to have it all figured out.

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about what's ahead. This is your space, and we'll take it one step at a time.
