Great to meet you!

I'm April — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked alongside people in some of the hardest chapters of their lives: crisis moments in emergency settings, school hallways with overwhelmed teenagers, and outpatient rooms where families were trying to figure out how to be in the same room again. That range of experience has shaped how I work. I know that anxiety looks different in a 15-year-old than it does in a 40-year-old. I know that couples who love each other can still feel like strangers. And I know that healing isn't linear — it takes time, trust, and the right support.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and marital concerns, family conflict, parenting challenges, life transitions, and emotional regulation. I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. For clients who want it, I also offer faith-integrated counseling that weaves Christian beliefs and values into the therapeutic process — thoughtfully, ethically, and at your pace.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative — I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when someone needs practical tools to interrupt anxious thought patterns. I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with clients who struggle to regulate intense emotions. For couples, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman Method-informed techniques — because the research on what actually works in relationships matters. Family systems therapy helps when the whole household is part of the story. What threads everything together is a belief that healing happens inside real, honest relationships. My role isn't to have all the answers — it's to help you access the insight and resilience that are already in you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session isn't about having the right answers or telling your whole story perfectly. It's a conversation — genuinely. I'll want to know what brought you in, what's felt most heavy lately, and what you're hoping life looks like on the other side of this. We'll also start to identify your strengths, because those matter just as much as what's hard.By the end of our first meeting, you'll have a clearer sense of what we might work on together and what that process could look like. And if you want to schedule a free 15-minute consultation before committing to a first session, I'm happy to make time for that too — just let me know when you reach out.
