Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is April Lain and I have over 30 years of experience working with and assisting adults and families in their healing journeys. My formal education started with an Associates degree in chemical dependency counseling, adding a Bachelors degree in Psychology and finishing with a Masters degree in Education with a focus in Counseling. My experience is diverse, having worked for government agencies such as CPS, Juvenile Corrections and county case management systems. From there, I moved into the private sector. I have created and managed substance abuse treatment programs for adults, women and their young children and young adults and their families.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client centered and holistic. My role in the therapeutic relationship is to guide, teach and support each person in their unique healing journey, addressing the mind, body and spirit. I have a “toolbox” of methods to use including EMDR and Equine Assisted Therapy.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for you to reach your therapeutic goals. The first time we meet will be a time to learn a bit about each other and and what your initial goal is.
