Great to meet you!

My name is April Nenjerama, LMFT and owner of Restore Family Counseling. I help teens, adults, couples, and families heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, and relational struggles. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and have been working as a therapist since 2018 in both private practice and community mental health.

A bit about who I am:

I’m a Navy veteran, a wife, and a mom, and I bring authenticity and real-life experience into the therapy room. I know what it’s like to navigate stress, complex family dynamics, and seasons of change. My clients often tell me they feel understood, supported, and encouraged to grow in ways that feel both challenging and safe.

What I want you to know:

Healing doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I meet you where you are—with compassion, curiosity, and practical tools. My style is warm, collaborative, and rooted in helping you feel grounded in your body and empowered in your choices. My goal is to help you feel more peaceful, connected, and confident in your life and relationships.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and supported. I integrate evidence-based practices with mind–body medicine, helping clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and nervous system responses work together. I guide clients in building awareness, developing practical tools, and creating new patterns that support long-term change. My goal is to help you feel grounded, empowered, and more connected to yourself and the people who matter to you.

I also take a relational and attachment-focused approach to therapy, grounded in compassion and curiosity. I help clients understand how past experiences shape current emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Using mind–body techniques and evidence-based tools, I support clients in healing old wounds, strengthening emotional regulation, and building healthier patterns. I believe therapy is a partnership, and together we create a space where growth feels possible and supported.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, calm, and nonjudgmental space where we focus on getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what brings you to therapy right now. We’ll talk about what’s been causing stress or pain, explore what you hope to change, and begin identifying strengths and patterns that shape your experience. You set the pace, and I’ll never push you to share more than you’re comfortable with. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling seen, supported, and confident that you’re in the right place.
