Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. April L. Stallworth, a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate life’s most challenging transitions. My clinical background includes advanced training in trauma-informed care, and I am committed to helping clients develop practical tools that support healing, resilience, and emotional well-being.

My approach is integrative and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). For clients who desire it, I also provide Christian counseling, thoughtfully integrating faith with sound clinical principles.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing trauma, stress, and complex life challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your experiences, gain insight, and build healthier patterns that promote lasting growth and wellness.

Seeking support takes courage, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients on their journey toward healing and restoration.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I believe that healing happens in an environment where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. I work to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore difficult experiences, build insight, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what has brought you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, important life experiences, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. This initial conversation helps me better understand your needs and begin identifying the most helpful approaches for your situation.

You can expect a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly at your own pace. Together, we will begin to identify goals for therapy and discuss practical strategies that can help you move toward healing and personal growth.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path forward.
