Great to meet you!

Hi There! My name is April Wilson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a National Board Counselor Certification. I received my educational training for my license from Lamar University earning a Masters in Education in Counseling and Development. I started my career helping people as a math teacher, which led me into school counseling, and then professional counseling. Supporting adolescents and young adults in realizing/pursuing the best version of themselves is my passion.

My approach to therapy

We are all in search of the same thing...Ways to be Great! Counseling is a personal journey that looks different from one person to the next. I will work with you to explore ways for you to reach your goals. I genuinely believe we have the tools within us to become the version of ourselves that we envision and my commitment to you is to help you discover, unlock, and activate your personal strength to enhance your overall quality of life by helping you find your Ways to be Great!

What you can expect from me

First and foremost, you can expect to be seen and you can expect to be heard. I pride myself in creating a space where people can be transparent, vulnerable, and authentic. I will expose you to some tools you’ll be able to use to help you cope with/manage your symptoms/situation. Additionally, I will help you set a goal as well as an action plan to help you achieve your goal.
