Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 17 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life's challenges. I earned my Master of Social Work from Florida State University in 2007 and began my career working with older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers. Throughout my career, I have also facilitated teen pregnancy support groups, led faith-based counseling programs for women, and spent 11 years in hospice care, serving as both a hospice social worker and bereavement counselor. I am passionate about providing compassionate support, advocacy, and guidance to help people navigate difficult transitions with dignity and hope.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, and client-centered. I believe each person is the expert in their own life, and I use active listening to create a safe space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. I take a strengths-based approach, helping individuals recognize their resilience and build on the skills and resources they already possess. I also incorporate narrative therapy techniques, encouraging clients to explore their personal stories, identify patterns, and reframe challenges in ways that promote healing, growth, and empowerment. My experience includes working with older adults, caregivers, grief and loss, life transitions, women's issues, and end-of-life care.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, relaxed, and nonjudgmental environment where they can share their concerns at their own pace. My goal is to get to know you, understand what brings you to counseling, and learn about your strengths, challenges, and hopes for the future. Together, we will begin identifying goals that are meaningful and realistic for your situation. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered as we develop a plan to help you move toward greater well-being, healing, and personal growth.
