Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Yazmin Hoffman, a registered play therapist with extensive experience working with children who experience a wide range of symptoms and behavioral concerns, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, phobias, and trauma. These challenges may or may not manifest as difficult behaviors in the classroom and at home. I am passionate about helping children process their emotions and difficult experiences through play, and I am dedicated to supporting their journey to thrive.

I hold master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland and have completed specialized training in play therapy. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for both children and their families, helping them build healthier relationships and a brighter future.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In my practice, I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy, which allows children to express themselves in their most natural way—through play. This approach helps address the root causes of their challenges, leading to meaningful and lasting change. I also place great importance on supporting and empowering parents as they navigate their children's complex behaviors and emotions. By working together, we can create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and healing for your child.mm

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect a supportive and nurturing environment where both children and their families feel safe to explore and express their emotions. In sessions with me, the primary goal is to help children process their experiences and emotions through play, which is their natural form of communication. This approach allows them to address the root causes of their challenges, leading to relief from symptoms and positive behavioral changes.

Goals typically include:

  • Emotional Processing and Healing.
  • Improved self-regulation
  • Enhanced Self-Esteem and Confidence
  • Behavioral Improvements
  • Improved Relationships.
  • Parental Empowerment

Overall, my practice is centered around creating a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where children and their families can thrive. Together, we work towards building resilience, fostering emotional well-being, and achieving lasting positive change.
