Great to meet you!

I am Area Britton, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor and Master of Social Work. My professional background includes experience in mental health therapy, school-based services, child welfare, inpatient healthcare, hospice, and substance use treatment, allowing me to support individuals across diverse backgrounds and life stages. My primary areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, maternal mental health, life transitions, and women’s issues.

My approach to therapy

I provide care through a compassionate, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, incorporating evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation based on each client’s individual needs. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect us to explore their current concerns, relevant history, strengths, goals, and expectations for therapy while beginning to develop an individualized treatment plan and establishing a purposeful therapeutic relationship.
