Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Carlos Albizu University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My approach is warm, supportive, and client-centered. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their thoughts and emotions. I use evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with creative and expressive approaches such as art therapy to support emotional expression, communication, and personal growth.

I am especially passionate about working with children and families, helping clients build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen social and communication skills. My goal is to meet each client where they are and support them in achieving meaningful and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I work to build a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe, heard, and supported. I tailor each session to the individual needs of the client, taking into account their developmental level, personal experiences, and treatment goals.

I integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with behavioral strategies and expressive techniques, including art therapy, to support emotional expression and engagement. This is especially helpful for children and clients who may have difficulty communicating verbally.

I focus on helping clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and create positive behavioral changes that can be applied in their daily lives.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. The initial session is focused on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and discussing your goals for therapy. I will ask questions about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

Together, we will begin to identify initial goals and create a plan tailored to your needs. I also take time to answer any questions you may have about the therapy process to ensure you feel comfortable and informed. My goal is for clients to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and confident about the next steps in their therapeutic journey.
