Great to meet you!

I have been a clinical psychologist for 21 years working in a federal prison with those with depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance abuse issues, trauma, psychosis, personality disorders, suicidal behaviors, self-harm, and disruptive behaviors. During graduate school I trained in various settings, including outpatient clinics, and various court and prison systems before going to internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I have been the coordinator over residential drug programs and have created other mental health units within the prison. Currently I am the Chief Psychologist supervising 4 other psychologists.

Taking care of your mental health is so important and I am hoping to be able to help you process through your struggles and create better ways of coping and managing. In turn your resilience and confidence will improve.

My approach to therapy

I have a flexible approach to therapy using cognitive behavioral theory and dialectical behavioral theory as foundations. I use empathy to help understand what you are seeking help for and will challenge you to think differently. My goals are to improve your functioning and help you learn new skills that you can use in every part of your life.

What you can expect from me

Typically during the first session, I let you lead and talk about what you are seeking help for and give you the space to get out any emotions or thoughts. Then we can focus on your specific goals and a treatment plan.
