Great to meet you!

I'm a bilingual psychotherapist who offers a supportive and collaborative space for clients to explore their experiences and better understand themselves. I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and my own experience navigating different cultural contexts informs the way I approach therapy with curiosity, openness, and cultural awareness.

Having earned my EdM in Mental Health Counseling and my Master's in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University, I'm especially passionate about supporting individuals from marginalized communities. Much of my work focuses on questions of identity, self-understanding, communication, and relationships. I often help clients explore interpersonal patterns, navigate relationship challenges, and build healthier ways of expressing their needs and boundaries.

My approach to therapy

My approach is inquisitive and exploratory. I work with clients to slow down and examine the patterns, beliefs, and past experiences that shape their sense of identity and how they relate to others. In our work together, I aim to be both affirming and gently challenging, helping clients gain deeper insight into themselves while also developing practical tools for change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), integrating insight-oriented work with skills-based strategies.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what's been going on in your life, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and any questions or concerns you might have about the process. I may also ask some questions about your background, relationships, and current challenges to get a better sense of the bigger picture.

The first session is also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work and whether it feels like a good fit. I aim to create a space that feels open, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, where you can speak freely. Therapy is a process, and trust often develops gradually over time, so there's no expectation to share everything right away. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
