Great to meet you!

My name is Arlen Spatz, but most people call me "AJ"...unless I am in trouble. I graduated from Grand Canyon University and Phoenix Seminary with degrees in Psychology and Counseling respectively. I have been working in the mental health field in various capacities since 2019, and the passion for walking alongside others has only grown deeper and stronger over the years. I have been fortunate enough to work with a wide population, including adults, adolescents, children, couples, and family units for a wide variety of topics. Areas of focus include generalized anxiety, depression, relationship issues, men's issues, and trauma (past or recent).

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and personalized, focusing on empowering you to build confidence in yourself, your abilities, and your choices. I believe in fostering autonomy and resilience, helping you gain the skills and healing needed to handle future situations independently. I often joke that my business model isn't great—my goal is for you not to need me anymore because you've grown confident and self-reliant. I take a trauma-informed stance in therapy, ensuring a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences without judgment. while I have a biblically-informed practice, I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and beliefs. Despite all of the "I's" in my approach statement, my focus ultimate is you.

What you can expect from me

In sessions, clients can expect to have the freedom to go where they need to go with a safe environment to do so. Perhaps we can get just one percent more self-love, a new skill or tool to use, or a valuable insight gained. Regardless, all of these help bolster confidence, and this flows into all aspects of life.
