Great to meet you!

If you are reading this, then you have taken the first step towards healing, congratulations. Let’s face it, life can become quite complicated and challenging at times and cause you to feel overwhelmed with distressful emotions. You try to handle it on your own, but when it begins to affect your work, your relationships and your self-esteem, you realize it's time to get outside help.

I have been working as a counselor for over 13 years in a variety of settings, including community mental health and hospice. Prior to that, I was an educator for 10 years and a nurse for over 20 years. I have been happily married for over 40 years and have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

I have worked with clients who were dealing with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, guilt/shame, life transitions, medical / chronic illness, relationship issues and trauma.

My approach to therapy

In my sessions, I use techniques from Person-Centered Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief therapy (SFBT), and Positive psychology. These approaches help to empower you so that you can overcome Grief/ Loss, Depression, Anxiety, challenge guilt/shame, improve self -esteem and relationships, evaluate life goals and manage chronic illness.

What you can expect from me

I offer a non-judgmental, empathetic approach to help build a relationship that allows us to work together in finding a satisfactory resolution. I know that opening up to someone new can be frightening, but I've been told by my clients that I am easy to talk to and down to earth. Allow me to help you navigate through life’s stressors, so that you can live the peaceful and positive life you desire. I look forward to working with you!
