Great to meet you!

Welcome, I am Arlyn Mendoza. I am a Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT) licensed in California with 15 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar, schizophrenia, and personality disorders, I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma, domestic violence or emotional abuse. I have completed the Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Polyvagal theory, EMDR, Griefs and Loss, and DBT for eating disorders trainings. As a therapist I worked with in both county and private practice community. My experience includes working with individuals, group, passionate about family therapy, and couples.

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Therapy

1. I Don’t Treat Symptoms — I Go to the Root

Most people come to therapy trying to fix what’s happening today.

But the truth?

What’s happening today is just the echo.

I work at the level of:

Past emotional wounds

Attachment patterns

Unresolved trauma

Because when you heal the root, the symptoms stop needing attention.

As I often say: this doesn’t change by magic... it changes by awareness and action.

What you can expect from me

What Clients Can Expect in the First Session

In your first session, you can expect a safe, grounded space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood—without judgment.

I go beyond surface-level conversation to help you quickly identify the underlying emotional patterns, triggers, and relational dynamics driving your current challenges.

From the very beginning, my approach is intentional and structured. Together, we will:

  • Gain clarity on what’s happening and why
  • Identify key areas for growth
  • Begin shifting patterns—not just talking about them

You will leave your first session with:

Practical tools to regulate emotions and respond differently

Personalized, clear goals for your process

A defined direction for your healing and growth

My style is empathetic yet direct—I create a space where you feel supported, while also gently challenging you toward real change.

This is not just a place to talk.

It’s a space to understand, reset, and begin transforming your life and relationships with intention.
