Great to meet you!

I'm Armando, a bilingual therapist (English and Spanish) who works with adults navigating some of life's harder stretches — trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, compulsive patterns, relationship pain, and the kinds of deep shame that don't respond to willpower alone. I've worked with people from all kinds of backgrounds and communities, including many members of the LGBTQ+ community, older adults facing existential transitions, and people whose problems don't fit neatly into one category. I believe complex problems deserve more than a surface-level approach — and I bring both clinical depth and genuine care to every session.

My approach to therapy

My primary framework is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy — which means I'm not just here to listen, but to actively work with you on changing the thought patterns and behaviors keeping you stuck. I supplement CBT with techniques from Gestalt, Psychodynamic, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy depending on what you need. I pay close attention to the body-mind connection, because the body often holds what the mind won't say out loud. My work is collaborative and skills-based: I want you to leave sessions with something concrete — a new way of seeing a situation, a skill you can use, or a belief you can finally let go of.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an evaluation. I'll ask you what's brought you in, what's been hard, and what you're hoping therapy might actually change for you. I'm direct and warm — I won't make you dig through your entire history before we can do any real work. By the end of the first session, you'll have a sense of how I work and whether it feels right. Most people leave feeling like someone finally understood what they've been trying to describe. I'm available for telehealth and in-person sessions — whatever makes it easiest for you to show up.
