Great to meet you!

My name is Armando Vasquez, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in McAllen, TX with nine years of experience helping people navigate life's most difficult chapters. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Pan-American, and I've spent my career working with the belief that every person holds the capacity for meaningful growth, they just sometimes need the right space to find it.

I lead with empathy, authenticity, and warmth. In my office (and online), there is no judgment, only curiosity, respect, and a genuine commitment to understanding your experience. I believe the relationship between a therapist and client is one of the most powerful tools for change, and I take that seriously.

My approach to therapy

I integrate Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a combination that is both deeply supportive and practically effective. The person-centered foundation means you'll always feel heard and accepted exactly as you are. The CBT framework means we won't stop there; we'll roll up our sleeves and work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns, build new coping strategies, and create real, lasting change in your daily life.

I'm collaborative, grounded, and direct; I'll never push you somewhere you're not ready to go, but I also won't shy away from honest conversations when they matter. Therapy with me is a partnership.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about ease and connection. We'll take our time getting to know each other, there's no rush and no pressure to have everything figured out. Together, we'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to feel or change, and begin setting meaningful goals for your work in therapy. Most clients walk away from that first conversation feeling genuinely heard, sometimes for the first time in a long time.
