Great to meet you!

You may be tired of telling everyone you're fine when privately you're struggling just to get through the day. Maybe alcohol or substances have become your escape, a painful relationship has left you questioning yourself, or something from your past still affects you no matter how hard you've tried to move on. For women carrying the weight of difficult relationships, trauma, depression, or constantly putting everyone else's needs before their own, it can be hard to even remember what feeling like yourself was like. With more than 20 years of experience, I help people understand what's keeping them stuck without judging them for how they got there. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your choices, your relationships, and the direction your life is taking.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe therapy should feel like you're being analyzed from across the room. I listen, ask questions, challenge you when it's helpful, and even use humor when appropriate so our conversations feel human and comfortable. Together, we'll look at the experiences and patterns behind what you're struggling with, whether that's reaching for a drink when life becomes overwhelming, repeatedly ending up in unhealthy relationships, shutting people out after being hurt, or losing motivation because depression has taken over. We'll work on practical ways to respond differently while also addressing the deeper experiences that may be driving those patterns. You may not be able to change what happened to you, but you can change how much control it has over what happens next.

What you can expect from me

Your first session isn't about sitting across from a stranger while being expected to share every painful detail of your life. We'll start with what's happening right now, what brought you to therapy, and what you would genuinely like to be different in your life. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, relationships, challenges, and strengths, but you decide how much you're ready to share. We'll also talk about what hasn't worked for you in the past so we can approach things differently. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling understood, comfortable talking with me, and clear about what we'll begin working on together.
