Great to meet you!

I am Ashana Badlani, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and founder of ANB Therapy, based in New York. I earned my Ed.M. and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University, and my Indian heritage and upbringing in Dubai have deeply shaped my culturally attuned approach to mental health. I specialize in supporting South Asian and Asian clients, with a focus on how culture, identity, race, and gender intersect with mental well-being. I am a certified Integrative Trauma Practitioner and Level One Gottman-trained therapist, and I have experience across private practices, non-profits, and residential treatment centers.

My approach to therapy

I take a holistic, whole-being approach that addresses both the mind and body, drawing primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic frameworks. I incorporate somatic practices, mindfulness, and breathwork to strengthen the mind-body connection, and my training as an Integrative Trauma Practitioner informs how I help clients process past experiences. For couples, I use Gottman Method techniques to improve communication and deepen connection. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their mental health within the context of their unique backgrounds and identities.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns, goals, and background. I approach this initial meeting with warmth and curiosity, so you can expect a relaxed, conversational environment rather than a rigid intake process. By the end of our first session, we will begin to outline a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and objectives. My aim is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and clear on what our work together will look like.
