Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a graduate education in counseling and clinical experience across private practice, community-based services, care coordination, and juvenile justice settings. My professional background has provided me with experience supporting individuals, adolescents, and families navigating a variety of emotional, behavioral, relational, and life challenges.

I have a particular interest in working with adults and families experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, family conflict, life transitions, trauma-related challenges, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I am also passionate about supporting individuals who are navigating significant changes or challenging seasons of life.

My work with families is especially meaningful to me because I believe the family plays an important role in an individual's overall development and well-being. I enjoy working with the entire family when appropriate and supporting healthier family relationships and functioning.

As a Christian, faith is an important part of my personal life and professional identity. I am a faith-based counselor and am open to working with clients from all faiths, spiritual backgrounds, and belief systems. I respect each client's individual values and experiences and welcome the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe therapy should be a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and free to be their authentic selves without judgment. I meet clients where they are while also encouraging them to grow beyond where they are.

I believe meaningful growth sometimes requires us to examine the way we think, the beliefs we hold, and the ways we have learned to respond to life. I gently challenge clients to look at situations from different perspectives, question patterns that may no longer serve them, and develop more flexible and adaptive ways of thinking and responding. My goal is not to tell clients how they should think, but to help them expand their perspective and discover new possibilities for themselves.

I take a holistic and family-centered approach, recognizing that relationships and family systems can significantly influence our emotional well-being. When appropriate, I enjoy working with families to strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, navigate conflict, and build healthier relationships.

As a faith-based counselor, my personal approach is grounded in Christian faith and values, while remaining welcoming and respectful of individuals from all faiths, spiritual backgrounds, and belief systems. Faith and spirituality are incorporated into therapy based on each client's comfort, values, and therapeutic goals.

Ultimately, I want my clients to leave therapy with a deeper understanding of themselves, greater confidence, healthier relationships, stronger coping skills, and the ability to approach life's challenges with greater flexibility and resilience.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I want you to feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe enough to begin being honest about what brings you to therapy. You do not have to have everything figured out before starting, and ambivalence about therapy is completely normal. If you are unsure about treatment or hesitant about opening up, we can work through that together.

I encourage clients to come with as much honesty and openness as they feel able to offer. You do not need to know exactly what you need or have all the answers. However, I do encourage you to come ready to participate in the process, whether that means identifying specific goals you would like to work toward or being willing to explore the thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences that may be contributing to your current concerns.

Our first session is also an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine whether we are a good therapeutic fit. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is an important foundation for effective treatment, and you should feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. I welcome your questions, thoughts, and feedback about the therapeutic process.

Together, we will begin identifying what you would like to be different in your life, what you hope to gain from therapy, and what goals may be most meaningful for you. Whether you arrive with specific goals or simply know that something needs to change, we can use the first session to begin creating a direction for treatment.

My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what brought you to therapy, what you would like to work on, and whether you feel I am the right person to support you in that process.
