Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! I'm Ashlei Howard, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 4 years of experience supporting individuals and families in their journeys toward healing and personal growth.

I earned my master’s degree in Counselor Education from Stetson University, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse cliental in clinical community mental health settings.

My practice focuses on anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma recovery and informed care, anger management, self-esteem and life transitions. I use evidence-based approaches such Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Whether you're navigating a difficult time or seeking deeper personal insight, I’m here to support your path forward!

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe that each person is the expert of their own experience, and my role is to support you in uncovering insights, developing coping skills, and making meaningful changes that align with your goals and values.

In sessions, I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to be open and honest. My style is integrative and adaptable—I draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and strengths-based therapy to tailor our work to your unique needs.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to deepen your self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy, and respect.

What you can expect from me

My goal as a therapist is to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and feel more in control of your emotional world. I work collaboratively with each client to define goals that are meaningful and realistic—whether that’s reducing anxiety, improving communication, building healthier relationships, or increasing self-confidence.

In our work together, I prioritize creating a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and experiences at your own pace. Clients often describe our sessions as a space where they can breathe, reflect, and feel truly heard—perhaps for the first time.

Therapy with me is not about quick fixes, but rather building lasting tools and insight that empower you to face challenges both inside and outside of the therapy room. As we move forward, you can expect to feel more grounded, emotionally aware, and better equipped to navigate life’s ups and downs.
