Great to meet you!

My name is Ashlei Thomas. I completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work at Texas A&M- Commerce in 2006. I have over 20 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment, hospice, managed care, case management, psychiatric emergency services, crisis intervention, non-profits, and private practice. I continue to seek out training to stay up to date with new therapeutic interventions and modalities.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I emphasize the mutual development of goals for therapy with clients and ongoing evaluation of the appropriate therapeutic approach to deal with identified problem areas. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Crisis Intervention.

What you can expect from our first session

I am invested in using an approach that emphasizes a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health that is tailored for each client. I am particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma and improving interventions to support trauma recovery for better emotional, physical, and relationship health.
