Great to meet you!

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience caring for children, adolescents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent many years working in psychiatric nursing and leadership roles with children, adolescents, and adults.

I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders. I also have experience providing medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.

I believe mental health care works best when clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being honest about what they are experiencing. My goal is to provide thoughtful, practical treatment while working collaboratively with each client to determine what makes the most sense for them.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and individualized. I want to understand not only a client's symptoms, but also how those symptoms are affecting their relationships, work or school, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

Medication can be an important part of treatment, but I don't believe every problem requires another medication. When medication is appropriate, I discuss the available options, expected benefits, potential side effects, and alternatives so that clients can be actively involved in treatment decisions.

I also incorporate education, supportive interventions, motivational interviewing, and practical behavioral strategies when appropriate. My goal is to develop a treatment plan that is effective, realistic, and sustainable for each individual.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what brought you to treatment. We'll discuss your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatments and medications, sleep, substance use when relevant, and other factors that may be affecting your mental health.

I also want to hear what you hope will improve and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. We'll discuss my initial impressions and possible treatment options together. When medication is appropriate, we'll review the benefits, risks, and alternatives before deciding on a plan.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what diagnosis you have or what treatment you need. Part of my role is helping you make sense of what you're experiencing and determining the next steps together.
