Great to meet you!

Dr. Ashley Carver, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker serving clients in Georgia and Alabama and the Founder of A Different Box of Crayons. A proud graduate of Tuskegee University, Alabama A&M University, and the University of Southern California, she brings a strong academic foundation and a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges.

As a therapist specializing in life transitions, Dr. Carver integrates evidence-based practices with a warm, down-to-earth approach to help clients navigate change, build resilience, and find balance. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a dedicated school social worker, advocating for students and their families.

Rooted in her belief that life is precious and full of opportunity, Dr. Carver is passionate about helping others overcome barriers, grow through difficult seasons, and create more fulfilling, empowered lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. I specialize in supporting individuals through life transitions, helping you navigate change with clarity, confidence, and balance. I believe healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and supported—so I create a nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.

In our work together, I focus on building coping skills, strengthening resilience, and helping you move through challenges in a way that feels manageable and empowering. Rather than rushing the process or focusing on “fixing,” I meet you where you are and guide you toward meaningful, sustainable growth.

My approach is culturally responsive and rooted in compassion. I am especially mindful of the unique stressors that come with balancing multiple roles and responsibilities, and I support clients in moving from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling more grounded, capable, and in control of their lives.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on building comfort, trust, and connection. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to gain from the process. I take a supportive, down-to-earth approach, moving at a pace that feels right for you while beginning to identify patterns, stressors, and goals. My priority is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and ready to begin your journey toward clarity and balance.
