Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Ashley McCoy, MA, and I’m a full time school counselor with a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Amberton University. I also completed the Mental Health Certificate program at Lamar University in order to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I bring a warm, compassionate, and practical approach to therapy, drawing from Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Holistic, and Person-Centered therapies to help clients better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and work toward meaningful goals.

My approach to therapy

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families through individual, family, marriage, and group counseling. My experience as a school counselor has given me a particular interest in supporting school-aged children and families, as well as helping clients navigate relationships, career development, life transitions, and the everyday challenges that can feel overwhelming. As a wife and mother of two school-aged children, I understand how full and demanding life can be, and I value creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, without judgment.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and identifying what you hope to change or accomplish. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where you feel heard and can take things at a pace that feels right for you.
