Great to meet you!

I have 7 years of experience providing therapeutic services to adults struggling with mental health/addiction. I've served in non-profit settings, treatment centers, and private practice. I have a master's degree in social work and continue pursuing advanced trainings to better my clinical skills, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I additionally offer private pay EMDR Intensive sessions ranging from 2-5 hours, which can be discussed further during the initial appointment. These interventions help clients in achieving accelerated recovery and better quality of life. I love to teach and learn, so don't hesitate to ask questions!

My approach to therapy

I take a client-centered approach. We will develop a treatment plan together that outlines your goals/objectives for therapy, but I'll also help you navigate unanticipated events as they arise. I check in about the time in-between sessions, review where we left off during the last appointment, teach coping skills, and inquire about what the client wishes to focus on. Feedback is important because it will help me better understand you and adjust my approach to your needs. EMDR therapy is not a talk therapy; it's instructional and designed for reprocessing traumatic memories. I'll provide plenty of education on mental health along the way, so please feel free to ask questions!

What you can expect from me

My first goal is to create a calm and safe environment. The first meeting is an intake assessment about your overall health, family history, and any other points you feel comfortable sharing. It helps me get to know you, your goals, and what brought you to therapy. Feel free to ask about me as well! We will also discuss what kind of therapy interventions I offer, confidentiality/consent, and if you feel this working relationship will be a fit for you. If there is time leftover, we may review a few mental health assessments that are needed for specialized therapies.
