Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Ashley McGowan, PhD, LPC-MHSP. I am a licensed professional counselor with extensive experience in clinical practice, leadership, and counselor education. My background includes working in integrated healthcare settings, higher education, and community-based mental health, where I’ve supported individuals across the lifespan. I specialize in comprehensive evaluations, trauma-informed care, anxiety and mood disorders, and supporting individuals navigating complex life stressors. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice, with a strong focus on helping clients gain clarity, insight, and meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My work with clients is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and clarity. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based, with an emphasis on understanding the whole person within their life context.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a supportive and collaborative experience. We’ll spend time discussing what brings you in, your goals for therapy or evaluation, and any concerns or questions you may have. I’ll gather relevant background information to better understand your experiences while ensuring the process feels respectful and at your pace. You can expect a calm, non-judgmental environment where your privacy and comfort are prioritized. Together, we’ll begin identifying next steps and creating a plan that aligns with your needs, strengths, and goals.
