Great to meet you!

Ashley Reid is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and a Registered Art Therapist who has been practicing since 2017. She has a Master’s in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling from Seton Hill University. Ashley’s approach to therapy is eclectic and creative with an emphasis on person-centered therapy. She incorporates techniques from trauma-informed practices, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), compassion-based therapy, and mindfulness as well as other therapeutic approaches. Ashley will do her best to meet your unique therapeutic goals. Ashley strongly believes successful therapy relies on a high-quality relationship between the client and therapist. Her initial goal is to build a trusting and supportive connection with her clients. You and Ashley will work together to explore your inner artist and how art making can be a therapeutic tool for you. Ashley’s favorite part of being a therapist is to witness the client’s process, whether it be artmaking or talk therapy. She values process over product, simply meaning that being present in the moment is the work, not the finished art product or “homework.” Outside of work, Ashley enjoys playing with her cat, reading tarot cards and loves to use art as a way to relax. She also enjoys a day at the pool, playing video games, and watching and drawing anime. She looks forward to working with you!
