Great to meet you!

I’m Ashley Rhodes-Courter, LCSW-S, a trauma specialist, clinical supervisor, and founder of Sustainable Family Services with nearly 20 years of professional and lived experience supporting individuals and families impacted by trauma, attachment wounds, foster care and adoption, relationship challenges, burnout, and major life transitions.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and advanced credentials in trauma and TeleMental Health, including Board Certified TeleMental Health (BC-TMH), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II), Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP), and Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP).

Outside of clinical practice, I am a New York Times and International bestselling author of Three Little Words and Three More Words and an award-winning keynote speaker and child welfare advocate. My work has taken me around the world speaking about trauma, resilience, child welfare, and strengthening families.

My approach to therapy

Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, family conflict, foster care or adoption, caregiver stress, relationship difficulties, burnout, or a significant life transition, my goal is to provide a compassionate, collaborative and affirming space where you feel understood while also gaining concrete skills and strategies for meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about creating connection and understanding what matters most to you. I am passionate about providing affirming, inclusive, and genuinely nonjudgmental care where you can show up exactly as and where you are. There is no “right” way to begin therapy, and you will never be expected to share more than you are ready to.

I welcome clients across all ages and stages of life and I honor the beautiful array of identities, experiences, relationships, and family structures that exist. I want you to leave your first session feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about what we can accomplish together.
