Great to meet you!

Hello! As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I know that taking the first step in your journey to improving mental health and emotional wellbeing is very courageous. I am glad that you are choosing to do so. Through audio/visual therapy sessions, I can provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express yourself and learn skills to feel better about daily life stressors and intense emotions. We can work together to reach your goals. I have been practicing since 2007, and my favorite focus is DBT skills training. I am also comfortable with other therapy modalities.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I believe that everyone has a right to the type of care that is best suited for them. Once we decide to work together, we will determine what the best therapeutic approach is for you. Together, we can find the balance between acceptance and change. Therapy enables you to “build a life worth living.” DBT skills-based training is my favorite approach as it includes the four main skills modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance (coping when things are going terrible), emotion regulation (identifying and expressing emotions), and interpersonal effectiveness (relationship skills). These skills can equip you to cope with high stress situations and manage intense emotions and relationships.

What you can expect from me

I like to start our first session with learning about you, giving you the chance to share your story, and learn what you hope to gain from attending therapy sessions. We will work together to determine your treatment goals in a safe and non-judgmental space. Future sessions will be focused on meeting those goals and helping you to make changes that you want.
