Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ashley, thank you for being here. Personally, I enjoy reading, animals, nature, traveling, yoga, and napping.

Professionally, I am an LCSW and CASAC w/ many years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. I have experience working w/ teens and adults. My background is mostly in addiction-related issues, which brings a variety of underlying causes (ie; trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, sleep problems, negative self-beliefs etc).

One specilaty of mine is mindfulness education and social emotional learning for children, teens, and adults. Using mindfulness strategies can teach emotional self-regulation stress reduction, and self-soothing practices.

My approach to therapy

I work with people by building on their strengths, being flexible to adjust to what the person in front of me needs. I listen intently, ask reflective questions. Colloborative goal setting, naming obstacles, rewriting unhelpful narratives, finding joy, and a work-life balance are all in my wheelhouse. My specialty approach is a trauma-informed one where your agency is a focus, along w/ structured, goal-directed sessions.

Modalities I use include

Eye Movement Desentization & Reprocessing to aid in nuetralizing the emotional charge of past events that still negatively impact and limit us today.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to aid in learning, and practicing distress tolerance skills and healthy emotion-regulation tools.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to aid in identifying how thoughts impact our emotions, which influence out actions/behaviors.

Internal Family Systems(Parts Work) to aid in understanding, accepting, and developing compassion, toward ALL parts of ourselves.

Mindfulness to aid in developing the skills/habits of pausing, paying attention to our physical, mental, emotional needs in a way that feels realistic.

What you can expect from me

Overall, people can expect to feel accepted, heard, seen, and connected. In addition, people have experienced outcomes such as noticing their feelings with less overwhelm, and developing more helpful ways to deal with life on life's terms.
