Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate of Ministry from Richmont Graduate University. I work with individuals ages 16 and older, as well as couples, and I have experience helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, trauma and PTSD/C-PTSD, substance use, and sexual addiction.

I believe counseling is a place where you can bring the parts of your story that feel confusing, painful, or difficult to talk about and begin making sense of them in a supportive environment. For clients who desire it, I also enjoy thoughtfully integrating Christian faith into the counseling process in a way that remains clinically sound and centered around the client’s needs.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to the person sitting across from me. I primarily work from a psychodynamic perspective, which means we may explore how past experiences, relationships, and patterns continue to shape the way you think, feel, and relate to others today.

Depending on your needs, I may also incorporate mindfulness, somatic-focused interventions, attachment-based work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. With couples, I draw from the Gottman Method and have completed Gottman Level 1 training. My goal is not to force you into a particular approach, but to find what is most helpful for you and the goals you want to accomplish.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and for me to better understand what has brought you to counseling. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or having everything figured out.

We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what you hope may be different as a result of therapy, and any important parts of your story that you feel comfortable sharing. I want the environment to feel welcoming, supportive, and free of judgment. We’ll also begin identifying goals for our work together and discussing what the counseling process might look like moving forward.
