Great to meet you!

Hi there, my name is Ashton Visconti, and I am a licensed psychotherapist in New York. I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University in August 2023, where I gained valuable fieldwork experience at Marywood's Counseling and Student Development Center and Scranton Counseling Center's Partial Hospitalization Program. I later completed my post-graduate hours on an acute care inpatient psychiatric unit in Binghamton, NY. Though I now live in San Diego, I remain passionate about giving back to the state where I was born and raised.

My approach to therapy

If you’ve ever worried that therapy might feel stiff, overly clinical, or impersonal – or if you’ve had experiences that felt emotionally distant or difficult to connect with – you’re in the right place. There’s room for honesty, humor, imperfection, and raw conversation here. Some of the best therapeutic work happens in spaces that feel human first.

My background across outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization settings allows me to bring both depth and adaptability to my approach. I work with adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem, perfectionism, depression, relational conflict, trauma, anger, difficult life transitions, and other struggles that don’t always fit neatly into a label.

I describe my style as genuine, collaborative, flexible, and curious. I believe the therapeutic relationship is built on honesty, trust, and authenticity. Our thoughts are deeply private and delicate, and I consider it the highest honor to receive them. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you in creating meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a collaborative and empowering experience in therapy. I tailor my approach to each person's needs, working together to set realistic goals and adjust them along the way. Many clients leave therapy with a better understanding of themselves, renewed confidence in navigating life's challenges, and practical tools they can continue using throughout life.
