Great to meet you!

When you, your child or family is going through a difficult season, it can be hard to know what to say, how to help, or where to begin. Hello! I'm a dedicated mental health professional who is passionate about helping children and families feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University and my Master of Social Work from Florida State University. My professional background includes school-based mental health therapy, dependency and court-involved services, grief counseling, and collaboration with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) providers. I support children and families navigating trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, stress, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation challenges, depression, family issues, adjustment difficulties, and major life transitions. I understand how hard it can be to reach out, but I believe every child and family has unique strengths, and my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where we can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in meeting each child and family where they are. I believe children often communicate their needs through emotions and behaviors, and understanding what is happening beneath the surface can make a meaningful difference. My clinical interests include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), grief counseling, and supporting families through adjustment difficulties and life transitions. In session, we may explore how thoughts, feelings, and experiences influence behavior while developing practical coping skills, strengthening emotional regulation, and improving communication. My experience in school-based mental health and working alongside ABA providers has taught me the importance of understanding each child's individual needs. I want therapy to feel like a partnership where families feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to build on the strengths they already have.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a relationship rooted in trust, comfort, and understanding. I recognize that starting therapy can feel unfamiliar for children and parents alike, so I want everyone to feel welcomed and supported from the beginning. We will talk about what brings you or your child to therapy, explore current challenges, identify strengths, and discuss what you hope will improve through our work together. When appropriate, I'll also spend time understanding family dynamics, school experiences, and the support available at home. There is no pressure to share everything right away. My goal is for you and your child to leave feeling heard, respected, and more confident about the steps we can take together.
