Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Astrid — a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Texas and Georgia with over nine years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and young adults through some of life's hardest chapters. My background spans private agencies, nonprofit organizations, and inpatient psychiatric settings, which means I've had the opportunity to work with a wide range of experiences and levels of need. Today, my practice is intentionally boutique — smaller, more focused, and built around the belief that genuinely good therapy requires time, attention, and real human connection.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, OCD, self-esteem, anger, and life transitions. I also work with couples on communication, connection, and building partnerships that actually feel good to be in. My approach is integrative, culturally grounded, and shaped by both clinical training and lived understanding of what it means to have a loved one affected by mental health challenges.

Cultural relevance is not a afterthought in my work-it's foundational. I am deeply committed to creating a space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel genuinely seen, not just accommodated. I believe that effective therapy has to account for who a person is, where they come from, and the unique context that shapes their experiences.

When I'm not in session, I will likely be at a Pilates class, in a museum, at a live music concert, or planning a trip. I enjoy reading, spending time with family or friends. I believe that a full life, the kind I try to help client's build looks different for everyone. I bring that same philosophy into my work, no two treatment plans look alike, because no two people do either.

If you've been thinking about starting therapy — or restarting it — I'd love to connect.

My approach to therapy

You don't have to have it all figured out. My job isn't to "fix" you but to walk alongside you, help you clarify what matters, and support you in creating meaningful change, at your own pace. Therapy should feel like a conversation, not a transaction and that's exactly the kind of space I work to create.

What you can expect from me

You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you're carrying anxiety that won't quiet down, grieving something or someone you've lost, navigating a relationship that needs support, or simply feeling like you've arrived at a moment where something has to change — this is a space for that.

I work with people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, grief, self-esteem struggles, and major life transitions. I also work with couples who want to communicate better, reconnect, and build something more sustainable together. My approach is collaborative, culturally informed, and always tailored to you — because the strategies that work have to actually fit your life.

Anxiety, in particular, is something I approach a little differently. Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort entirely, we work together to build the skills to move through it — so it stops running the show. Whatever brought you here, we'll figure out where to start together. If you don't see a time or date that works with your schedule, please send me a message and we can figure it out.
