Great to meet you!
I've been working with children for 10+ years and adults for over 5 years, as a therapist and community worker. It was my work with children and concerns for their emotional well-being, that lead me to develop a program that would address the emotional needs of families affected by incarceration. My passion for helping people to reach their maximum potential through a healthy mental and emotional foundation also led me to seek ways to help outside of work. I volunteered at a shelter for young adults to begin facilitating groups on discovering one’s purpose in life.
I would love to continue to work with people seeking to find their purpose or direction in life. I've enjoyed helping previously incarcerated individuals find their career paths upon re-entering society (which I believe is essential to preventing recidivism) as well. Lastly, I enjoy helping black and brown people overcome self-esteem issues caused by racism. I am very cognizant of clinical impact that racism and stereotypes have had on people of color, so I enjoy helping them work through that.
