Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor with experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship difficulties, major life transitions, and the effects of involvement with the criminal justice system. My approach is direct, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I believe therapy should be a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and also be challenged to make meaningful changes.

I draw from CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction principles, and trauma-informed care while tailoring treatment to each person’s needs. I especially enjoy working with clients who may have felt misunderstood or judged in traditional treatment settings. My goal is to help you better understand the patterns affecting your life, develop practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward the life you want to create.

I bring both clinical experience and a real-world perspective to therapy. You can expect honesty, compassion, accountability, and a collaborative relationship where we work together toward realistic and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and person-centered. I work to create a space where clients can be open about what they are experiencing without feeling judged, while also being supported in taking an active role in making changes. I believe therapy should not only help you understand where certain thoughts, emotions, and behaviors come from, but also give you useful tools for managing them differently.

Depending on your needs, I incorporate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and harm-reduction principles. I tailor treatment to the individual rather than using the same approach with everyone. My style is supportive and straightforward, and I balance empathy with accountability so that we can identify patterns, build on your strengths, and work toward realistic, meaningful goals.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect the first session to be focused on getting to know one another and understanding what brought them to therapy. I’ll ask about the concerns you’re experiencing, important parts of your history, what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past, and what you hope to get out of treatment.

I try to make the first session comfortable and conversational rather than feeling like an interrogation. We’ll begin identifying your strengths, challenges, and goals, and talk about what a useful therapy process might look like for you. You do not have to have everything figured out before coming in. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and with a clearer sense of how we can move forward together.
