Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Tennessee. My clinical background includes inpatient psychiatry, emergency mental health care, substance use treatment, therapy, and medication management across the lifespan. These diverse experiences have shaped my understanding of mental health and the unique challenges individuals face at different stages of life. I believe mental health care should be individualized, compassionate, and grounded in a genuine understanding of each person's experiences. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout your mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every individual's mental health journey is unique. I take the time to understand you as a whole person, considering your life experiences, relationships, lifestyle, and personal goals rather than focusing solely on symptoms or a diagnosis. I combine evidence-based treatment with a personalized approach to medication management, recognizing that what works for one person may not work for another. I believe in shared decision-making, where your voice, preferences, and comfort level are essential parts of developing your treatment plan. Together, we'll build a trusting relationship and make thoughtful adjustments along the way to support your mental health and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another beyond your symptoms. We'll explore your personal history, life experiences, relationships, medical and psychiatric history, current and previous medications, past treatment experiences, and the journey that has shaped who you are today. Together, we'll discuss your current concerns, what you hope to accomplish, and treatment options that may include therapy, medication management, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches. From there, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan that aligns with your needs, preferences, and goals. Each session moving forward will build on the last, allowing us to celebrate progress, navigate challenges, and adjust your care as your needs evolve.
