Great to meet you!

I would describe myself as a counselor who is curious and witty. I ask a lot of questions because I want to understand not only what brings you to therapy, but how your experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, others, and the world. I've been working in the mental health field for nearly two decades, and over time my practice has come to focus on supporting people navigating trauma, grief, chronic illness, anxiety, and major life stressors. I believe therapy begins with building a strong, trusting relationship and creating a sense of safety and connection.

My approach to therapy

My primary treatment approach is EMDR, which can help people process trauma, reduce anxiety, and feel less stuck in painful patterns. I have also trained in Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and CBT, and I draw from these approaches depending on each client’s needs and goals. While therapy can involve specific tools and interventions, I also believe deeply in the value of having a safe, contained space to hold difficult feelings, make sense of painful experiences, and work through them at a pace that feels manageable.

What you can expect from me

In a first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and making sure it feels like a good fit to work together. I’ll want to understand what brings you to counseling, what you are hoping to work on, and how I can be helpful. I also think it is important to make sure the concerns and challenges you are bringing to therapy are areas where I have the right experience and training to support you. My goal is to create a comfortable, collaborative space where you can share at your own pace and we can decide together whether moving forward feels right.
