Great to meet you!

I'm Austin Chenoweth, an LMFT with over four years of experience helping teens and adults work through anxiety, depression, and the deeper patterns driving them. I trained at Santa Clara University and take a relational, depth-oriented approach to therapy — which means I'm less interested in managing symptoms and more focused on

understanding what's underneath them.

I see clients via telehealth throughout California, and I work with people 13 and older. I genuinely enjoy the work of therapy, and I believe the relationship we build together is the most powerful tool we have for treatment.

My approach to therapy

I draw from psychodynamic, and relational frameworks — but also utilize behavioral and cognitive modalities when appropriate. The real engine of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself. I pay close attention to what happens between us in our sessions: the emotions that come up, the patterns that emerge, the moments of connection and friction. Those patterns often mirror exactly what's

playing out in your life outside the room.

By working through them together in real time, we create change that's genuine and lasting — not just symptom relief, but a different way of moving through the

world. I'm direct without being clinical, and curious without being detached. Each person I work with gets their own unique form of therapy.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about fit — and I take that seriously. I'll ask what brought you to therapy, and why specifically now; and what you want to change and how you might think therapy can help you. I'll share honestly how I work so you can decide if it feels right. No

pressure, no scripts. By the end of the session, we'll have a clearer picture of what might be driving your experience and what working together could look like. Most people leave feeling genuinely heard — and that's exactly where I want to start.
