Great to meet you!

My name is Autumn Makamson and I have been practicing as a therapist for 15 years. I received a BA from the University of Michigan and a MSW from the University of Southern Mississippi. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; Phobias; Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder ;Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Hoarding Disorder.

My approach to therapy

I offer individual and group counseling sessions. For anxiety disorder, I use Exposure Response Prevention Therapy . I encourage my clients to learn how to tolerate the discomfort, and not engage in compulsions . For Hoarding Disorder, I help clients identify unhelpful beliefs that underly hoarding behaviors, create an organizational system and develop helpful behavioral habits using CBT. I have a high success rate, and most clients report relief from symptoms in 4-6 weeks using these approaches.

What you can expect from me

I offer a warm, accepting space in which I encourage open dialogue and questions. I want clients to feel that this is the right fit for them, and that I am here for them.
