Great to meet you!

I am a licensed therapist in New York and New Jersey with 7 years of professional experience supporting adults through stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, career challenges, and major life changes. My background is in social work, and much of my clinical work has been in community health, where I have had the privilege of supporting people from many different walks of life. I believe in treating every client with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I tailor our work together to fit your unique needs and goals. I also care deeply about providing culturally affirming care, especially for clients of color and Black clients whose experiences may be shaped by racism, bias, and the feeling of not always being fully seen or understood. In addition, I am especially interested in supporting older adults, women navigating perimenopause or menopause, and people managing chronic health concerns such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol, because I know emotional well-being and physical health are often closely connected.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is primarily person-centered, which means I focus on understanding who you are, how you move through the world, and what support will be most helpful for you. I am not a one-size-fits-all therapist, and I do not believe therapy should feel rigid or impersonal. I ask thoughtful questions, invite you to ask questions too, and encourage openness so we can build a relationship that feels honest, collaborative, and safe. I want therapy to be a place where you can practice using your voice, advocating for yourself, and setting boundaries, especially if people-pleasing, self-doubt, or low self-worth have made that difficult in other areas of your life. Depending on your needs, I may draw from person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, behavioral activation, psychoeducation, and teach-back strategies. My goal is always to meet you where you are and help you move toward the life you want with support that feels practical, compassionate, and empowering.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive conversation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I will likely ask a number of questions, not to put you on the spot, but because I want to understand your experiences, what has been weighing on you, and what you hope will feel different in your life. We may talk about your current stressors, your emotional and physical well-being, your relationships, and any patterns that are making it harder for you to feel like yourself. This first session is also a chance for you to get a feel for me and decide whether I am the right fit. I welcome your questions, your honesty, and your feedback from the very beginning. Together, we will start identifying what support may be most helpful and begin shaping a plan that feels personalized, realistic, and grounded in your goals.
