Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Dr. Avadawn Lindsay, Ph.D., Ed.S., LPC, and I am a licensed professional counselor and school psychologist with more than two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, families, and educators.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are struggling with learning differences, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral challenges, emotional concerns, academic difficulties, and social-emotional development.

My approach to therapy

Using a combination of CBT and incorporating DBT skills, my approach is warm, encouraging, and collaborative, with a focus on helping children and teens feel understood, supported, and comfortable being themselves. I recognize that each young person’s experiences are shaped by their strengths, interests, family, school, and community. I work to create a safe, welcoming, and organized space where youth can talk openly, build confidence, and learn practical tools for everyday challenges. As a lifelong learner, I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and partner with each child, teen, and family to set meaningful goals and take manageable steps forward.

What you can expect from me

I always begin with an introductory session where you can share your story, your concerns, and what you hope to gain from our work together. From there, we will create a plan that works for you to achieve your goals.
