I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology in 2015 from Carlos Albizu University in Miami. I trained in many diverse environments including the Miami VA, Miami Childrens Hospital Intensive Inpatient (currently Niklaus Childrens Hospital), and the Barry University Counseling Center. I received specialized training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems. In addition to my activities in private practice, I currently work as a school psychologist for Miami-Dade Public Schools.
I utilize a trauma and attachment based approach to conceptualize the influence of a client's environment, experiences, and relationships. I believe that the client is the true expert on themselves. I aim to use my knowledge and training to collaborate with each client to accomplish therapeutic goals together. Both documented research, and personal experience taught me that the most important element of successful therapy is a safe and trusting relationship between client and therapist.
I collaborate closely with each client to establish highly individualized therapeutic goals. I like to use pre and post outcome measures to monitor progress quantitatively which also allows the client to clearly perceive and take pride in the successes they have achieved and create new goals as needed.
