Great to meet you!

With more than two decades of experience as a licensed psychologist, professor, and clinical supervisor, I've learned that lasting change happens when we understand not only what we're struggling with, but also the deeper patterns shaping our lives and relationships. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship challenges, family dynamics, cultural pressures, life transitions, grief, stress, or depression. They often feel stuck in repeating cycles that leave them disconnected from themselves or the people they care about most.

I work with adolescents, adults, families, and individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those navigating women's issues, identity concerns, maternal mental health challenges, trauma, and cross-cultural experiences. Together, we'll explore the experiences, beliefs, and relationship patterns that may be contributing to your current struggles while building on the strengths you already possess. My goal is to help you gain insight, create meaningful change, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

My approach to therapy

I view people through a systemic lens, meaning I don't look at challenges in isolation. Instead, I explore the connections between your personal experiences, family dynamics, relationships, culture, and life history. My approach is warm, collaborative, and supportive while also providing honest feedback, gentle challenge, and accountability when needed. I believe therapy should provide both understanding and action so that insight can lead to meaningful and lasting change.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Strategic Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Behavioral Modification, and Humanistic approaches. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, challenge unhelpful beliefs, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and develop practical strategies for navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, family issues, grief, trauma, panic, identity concerns, and life transitions. Therapy is always tailored to your unique goals, strengths, and experiences.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a genuine therapeutic relationship. Rather than feeling like an interrogation or paperwork exercise, our conversation will focus on understanding your story, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from therapy. My priority is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself.

As we work together, you can expect thoughtful guidance, honest feedback, and practical support. Clients often leave therapy with greater self-awareness, stronger relationships, healthier boundaries, improved confidence, and more effective ways of managing stress, anxiety, and life's challenges. My goal is to help you better understand the patterns influencing your life so that you can move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and purpose.
