My approach to therapy

Awtum’s approach to therapy is holistic, strengths-based, and collaborative. She focuses on understanding clients within the context of their family systems, cultural background, and life experiences. Awtum emphasizes building strong therapeutic relationships, empowering clients, and actively involving families when appropriate to support long-term success. She integrates evidence-based practices while remaining flexible and responsive to each client’s unique needs. Awtum strives to create a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to work toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with Awtum, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. Awtum will spend time learning about your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. She may ask questions about your family, relationships, work or school, and any past experiences with therapy to better understand your needs.

The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share what you hope to gain from therapy. Awtum will review important information such as confidentiality, scheduling, and expectations for treatment. Together, you will begin identifying goals and discussing how therapy can support your growth and well-being.

Awtum’s approach is collaborative and strengths-based, so you can expect to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in the process from the very beginning.
