Axel Cristales

I am an LPC in Texas with six years of experience. I gained the majority of my early clinician experience at a domestic abuse center where I counseled domestic abuse survivors. This experience equipped me to address issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma and stress. Currently, I work at Children’s Hospital Plano as a clinical therapist where I continue to receive training and experience to be well versed in helping others overcome mental health battles and improve emotional wellness.

My commitment is to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and emotions can be expressed without the fear of judgment and criticism, and where empathy and care are the vital tools in ensuring clients feel heard and understood. I encourage risk taking for I believe it is the action, and not just reflection that leads to positive and constructive change.

I consider it my duty and responsibility to help clients not be defined by their mental illness and emotional struggles, but rather by the strength and courage they possess internally to prevail. As we work collaboratively, sessions will promote self-understanding and self-acceptance all for the purpose of self-empowerment.
