Dr. Ayo (Ayo is a Yoruba word that means "Joy"), as she prefers to be called, is a spiritually based, Board Certified, African-Centered/Black Psychologist, Fellow who uses Ubuntu, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR and is a licensed psychologist. She earned her MA and Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Dr. Ayo specializes in working with, but is not limited to, people of African ancestry (including biracial or multiracial individuals) addressing racial issues, self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, parenting, and caregiving.

My approach to therapy

As a spiritually based, Board Certified/African Centered Black Psychologist, I focus on wellness and how to achieve optimal health. I use Ubuntu and Ma'at principles to guide individuals to re-establish a balance among the psychological, materialistic, spiritual, and interpersonal aspects of life.
