Great to meet you!

As an eclectic therapist, military veteran & the founder of Kortsens Changed Mindsets, I utilize more than one theoretical approach & techniques which are unique to each client's needs-depending on client's problems & treatment goals. My specialty & passion are therapy for ages 13-75 years old of any gender struggling to cope with life stressors, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, & relationship issues. With evidence base tools, my goal is to help you understand & live a healthy/fulfilling life

A bit about my approach to therapy

Everyone has a unique story and needs a safe and empathetic environment where you feel heard, understood and accepted without judgment. I will prioritize your autonomy, self-exploration and personal growth. In addition, I will facilitate and guide you to explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences at your own pace. My therapy approach emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and your inherent capacity for self-healing.

What you can expect from our first session

In our first session, we'll introduce ourselves. You'll talk about your reasons for seeking therapy, the painful and difficult things you have been experiencing in your life, and also things you want to change and any goals you might have. You may leave the session ecstatic or feeling exhausted and unsure which is perfectly fine. You'll experience a full range of emotions like a rollercoaster throughout your course of therapy. It's all apart of the process to your healing journey. You got this!
